Welcome to Class 3 All Saints (Year 4 & 5)

Welcome to our class page. We hope you enjoy looking at all our hard work!

Being prepared for school each day

Children will need their waterproof coat, a bag for reading books and a packed lunch (if required). Pencil cases and other school equipment will be provided for children by school. It is important that we limit what is being brought into school, so pencil cases and other accessories from home won’t be needed.

Break and lunch times

Children have one breaktime in the morning. For this time, they are welcome to bring a healthy snack with them to eat during break.

Forest School

Class 3 have forest school every 3 weeks during term time. They will need to bring in spare clothes to get changed into at lunchtime and please remember your wellies too! During the colder months we ask that your child brings a hat and gloves as they can get very cold outside.

Class 3 have PE on Wednesday afternoons. PE kits should be left in school for the whole week as the children will sometimes take part in sporting activities at short notice. PE kits consist of Black Joggers/leggings, white t-shirt, black jumper/hoodie and a pair of trainers.

Meet Class 3 Teacher Mrs Robinson and Mrs Jackson TA

A wonderful Motte and Bailey Castle made from cake. What a contender for Class 3’s topic challenge!

Fathers Day cards

Class 3 creating panels from the Bayeux Tapestry. They had to scrunch and stain their paper  in order to give an aged look. They then carefully copied a scene of their choice from the tapestry. How many characters from Aesop’s fables can you recognise in the borders?

Class 3 discussed their Picture News topic for the week-Who is your hero? There were some lovely comments made about their parents. Children in Class 3 consider them to be their heroes.

Some photos of Class 3’s recent D&T learning. We started this topic by looking at food pyramids and what healthy eating entails.  We then tasted and evaluated a number of sandwich fillings, both homemade and shop-bought in order to decide the types of ingredients we enjoy and  would work well together in our sandwiches.   Each child then designed, made, tasted and evaluated their own healthy sandwiches.  There were some slightly strange concoctions but we also disocvered some quite delicious food combinations.   We hope they put their skills to good use at home!

Class 3 and members of the Chaplaincy group have been delivering their Easter Gardens to Pendlebury Court and Panaderia Blue.  It would have been rude not to have a hot chocolate

Topic Challenge!  Class 3 have brought in their skyscrapers.  Well done to everyone who rose to the challenge.  They are all fantastic.  Choosing one winner will be extremely difficult.

Well it’s Easter in Class 3.
Happy Easter!

Easter Gardens

What a busy few weeks we have had learning about L.S. Lowry. We enjoyed looking at a wide range of his paintings.  We analysed little sections of paintings using view finders and then sketched our chosen parts. Trying to create people in the same style as Lowry used wasn’t as easy as it looked!  We used glue spreaders, cotton buds, brushes and our fingers to create matchstick-style people.  Working on perspective and on mixing tints, tones and shades was fun too. All of those steps help us to create our own paintings and class display.

Class 3 have carried out a comparative investigation to see if gases have a weight. They weighed different fizzy drinks and then weighed them again after they had been stirred for one minute. The weights of the drinks had decreased because the gas had escaped from the cups; except for one. so, if you want to buy the fizziest drink, you need to buy Coca Cola.
