Statement of Intent
It is the aim of this school to provide every child with the best education possible. Our objective in setting out the school’s Special Educational Needs Information Report is to make everyone aware that we want all pupils to benefit as fully as possible from the education provided within the school.
We cater for pupils who experience difficulties in:
  • Communication and interaction
  • Cognition and learning
  • Emotional and social development
  • Sensory and/ or physical and medical conditions

The Federation uses a wide range of strategies for reading, maths etc and we also use interventions for children that may need it.

We also have two Emotional Learning Support Assistant (ELSA) – Mrs Parker and Mrs Done both Teaching Assistants – who concentrate on the pupils wellbeing.

If you have any concerns regarding your child please do not hesitate to contact their class teacher or Mr Steane.

Useful Resources to Support Neurodiverse Pupils at Home with Regulation

Many of our neurodivergent pupils have learned lots of strategies when navigating our structured school environment to regulate throughout the day and have their needs met. As staff, we do everything we can to nurture the children’s sensory, emotional and physical needs throughout the day, but we recognise that parents at home may also need support in managing these needs too.
Here are a collection of resources and links that may help you to support your child with regulation, relaxation, and organisation in the evenings.

SEN Local Offer

The Local Offer is a description of all the services available to support disabled children and children with SEN and their families. This information should set out what is normally available in schools to help children with SEN as well as highlighting what support is available for families who need additional help to support children with more complex needs.
