Bishop Patrick’s Spiritual Themes
At All Saints and St Margarets, the Bishop’s themes are interwoven in lots of elements of school life. From our acts of worship to our Mini Vinnie’s foci; from RE to our charity fundraising.
ENCOUNTER: Bishop Patrick aims to ensure that people of all ages are helped to discover, or discover more deeply, the importance of a personal ENCOUNTER with Christ; so that they can know more deeply that they are each loved by God and are invited to grow in their relationship with him.
DISCIPLESHIP: As well as a personal encounter with Christ, Bishop Patrick would like to encourage us all to hear and respond to his invitation to be his DISCIPLES, by following him more closely, and serving him more generously in our daily lives.
MISSIONARY DISCIPLESHIP: By being more open to the help, guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit, we can all become MISSIONARY DISCIPLES, filled with faith and joy. We can look outwards, growing in confidence to speak of the difference that knowing Christ more closely has made to our lives. We can be disciples of Christ, committing to serving our brothers and sisters – especially those most in need of our support.
These themes that Bishop Patrick have given us, remind us of what Jesus asks of his disciples, “Go, make disciples of all nations”; they remind us that the Church is called to be missionary.
